Belshaw Company Limited, a leading manufacturer and trusted brand in detergents and disinfectants has donated a wide range of its products including alcohol-based sanitizers and antibacterial handwash to the Tema General Hospital.
The donation forms part of the company’s effort to combat the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Speaking at a brief ceremony to handover the items to the hospital, Ms. Abena Sarpong, the Director of Corporate Affairs of Belshaw Company noted that the company considers it a duty to lend its support in the fight against the deadly virus.
“We are aware of government’s efforts in the fight against Coronavirus and as stakeholders we have a role to support this worthy cause” she stressed. She explained that as an award winning manufacturing company also located in Tema, the company finds it prudent to begin their donation efforts at the Tema General Hospital, which has been designated a center for the treatment of COVID-19.
Ms. Sarpong urged all Ghanaians to religiously keep to the precautionary measures as outlined by government.
Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, the Medical Director of the Tema General Hospital, Dr. Richard Anthony expressed gratitude to Belshaw Limited for their kind gesture. He explained that with the increased demand for sanitizers and disinfectants, the donation would go a long way to help the hospital in its efforts to treat and curb the spread of the virus.
Dr. Anthony also used the opportunity to appeal on the general public and other corporate bodies to assist the health facilities in the fight against the virus.
